RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Generating schedules for RN, RPN, PSW, restorative care and nursing administration staff
  • Replacement / relief scheduling for all nursing staff including replacing sick calls, WSIB and RTW program scheduling
  • Processing nursing payroll transactions bi-weekly in a nursing department of 200 staff
  • Review and verification of reports including but not limited to hours worked, sick / absent reports / sick bank hours, stat, vacation, overtime, absenteeism and shift premium for in-charge staff
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements, HR policies and Employment Standards legislation.
  • Provides back-up relief for all payroll duties in absence of the Office Manager as needed
  • QUALIFICATION :

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education is required.
  • Knowledge of staff scheduling procedures / electronic scheduling.
  • Previous experience working with collective agreements is an asset.
  • High proficiency in computer skills including MS Office required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to self direct, be flexible and function well in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Participates in and contributes to the Quality Improvement (QI) program at the home
  • Other assigned duties as required
  • Hours of work for this position require days and evenings shifts as well as statutory holidays and weekend shifts on a rotational basis.

    Candidates will be required to provide a Vulnerable Persons Sector Police Check (acceptable if within 6 months).
