The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, in partnership with the Charbonneau Cancer Institute, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, invite applications for a full-

time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, working in any area of DNA or genome science related to basic and / or translational cancer research.

The candidate’s qualifications must include a PhD degree or equivalent in DNA science and / or cancer research, a minimum of two years of post-

doctoral experience, and an outstanding record of research publication in high impact journals. Expectations for the position include establishing an outstanding, externally-

funded research program (for which 75% time will be protected), as well as contributions to teaching and graduate student supervision.

The position is offered through the Robson DNA Science Centre (RDSC) at the Charbonneau Cancer Institute and is an excellent opportunity to build an exceptional independent research program within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

A competitive year-round salary and an attractive start-up package will be provided.

The successful candidate is expected to develop a world-class research program that synergizes with current areas of expertise within the RDSC, including mechanisms of DNA double strand break repair, telomere biology and cellular aging in the context of cancer.

Our researchers have strong ties to translational and clinical colleagues within the Charbonneau and at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre at the University of Calgary.

RDSC investigators share contiguous modern laboratory facilities, technical support and state-of-the-art core facilities.

We also have ready access to large collections of clinical samples and well-characterized patient populations for both fundamental and clinical research.
