Position Summary :
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for managing operations personnel, driving cross-functional improvements, generating and championing action plans to address equipment downtime as well as driving employee engagement and teamwork.
With a focus on cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement, the successful candidate will help create a work environment where employees have the best opportunity to make their greatest contribution;

Key Accountabilities :
Provide leadership to the assigned team while cultivating Sofina’s culture.
Ensure that the assigned business metrics including yield, labour efficiency, line speed, sanitation / reliability and overhead expenses are achieved.
Drive cross-functional throughput improvements.
Lead floor management development process and implement ahead / behind visibility.
Partner on action plans to address equipment downtime.
Ensure timely fulfilment of customer orders within the specifications.
Ensure product quality and adherence to production specifications to meet customer expectations and business objectives.
Execute labour optimization projects.
Drive employee engagement.
Collaborate with all departments (QA, Health and Safety, HR, Finance etc.) including corporate engineering resources on machine standards and new capital purchases.
Meet reliability targets through reduction of downtime and run rate adherence.
Maintain a safe working environment.
Monitor effective deployment of Human Resources programs and practices throughout the plant and ensure the correct administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
University Degree or College Diploma with minimum 7-10 years of industry experience.
Minimum 5 years hands on operational leadership experience in mid to large organization.
Proven experience in, continuous improvement, six sigma and reliability projects.
Experience / working knowledge of lean tools Total Productive Maintenance / Autonomous Maintenance.
Comfortable & effective in working with all levels of the diverse work force, union & government regulators.
Strong people leadership, engagement and communication experience and capabilities.
Ability to manage within the terms and conditions of a collective agreement(s) and corporate human resources policies.
Knowledge of computer applications, excel etc.
Shift : AM 5.30am to 2pm
Direct Reports : Min of 7 direct reports
