We are currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Geotechnical Department in our Thunder Bay office.

Your Contribution
As an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, you will work in collaboration with the Geotechnical Team, your main tasks will be to assist on projects supplying geotechnical exploration, design, forensic analysis, laboratory testing, construction management and inspection / testing services to Energy, Institutional, Transportation, Industrial, Commercial, Communication, and Residential clients.
More specifically, you will
Plan, conduct and supervise geotechnical field inspections including drilling and test pit programs;
Carry out quality control field inspections at various construction projects;
Conduct foundation investigations and complete basic shallow and deep foundation design;
Carry out geotechnical laboratory testing to the applicable standards and procedures necessary;
Support the materials testing manager;
Enter and report field testing results;
Support experienced geotechnical engineering staff as required;
Prepare proposals and write factual reports;
Liaise with contractors, clients and project managers;
Attend site and office meetings.
Your Profile
University Degree in Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering;
All applicants are considered and all experience is considered; relevant experience in geotechnical / materials engineering capacity is preferred;
Eligible for PEO EIT Program;
Fluent in English;
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and team oriented;
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and able to complete work within established timeframes;
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel throughout Northern Ontario on an as required basis;
Demonstrated interest and sensitivity towards occupational health and safety.
