Job Description : Overall Summary :

Overall Summary :

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Responsibilities :

Accounting, Reporting and Analysis

  • Review monthly revenue and expenses for accruals
  • Review first pass reporting and analytics as prepared by Finance outsource team
  • Variance analysis and analytics and commentary on financial results vs forecast
  • Manage and review Finance outsourcing team workflow : bank reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and other reporting templates
  • Monitoring of all reporting deliverables (monthly actuals & forecasts, YE and QE supplementary packs, IT additional information requests), ensuring timely submission in line with deadlines
  • Manage business groups budget, forecast and client reporting
  • Working capital monitoring and cash forecasting
  • Review and resolve intercompany discrepancies as escalated by Finance outsource team
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Review and submit government tax audits; internal / external financial audits
  • Preparing sales tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
  • Other ad-hoc projects;
  • Client & Internal Relationships :

  • Collaborate in preparing and delivering work to colleagues & clients
  • Respond to requests for information quickly and accurately
  • Engages with all work-related contacts in a professional and respectful manner
  • Establish strong internal relationships with agency personnel
  • Strategic Thinking & Leadership :

  • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
  • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate
  • Provide guidance to team members nurture / promote the team environment
  • Assist in constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents
  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and the ability to seamlessly transition among them
  • Communications Skills :

  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
  • Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner
  • Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially
  • Develop reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive
  • Qualifications :

  • University Degree in business administration, finance or accounting
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar experience from a media agency
  • CPA certification or close to completion
  • Thorough understanding of the financial process
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
  • Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Previous experience using DDS or Mediaocean, is an asset
