We are currently seeking a Verification and Validation Test Engineer (Specialist) to join our team in Waterloo, Ontario.

Verification and Validation Test Engineer (Specialist) is responsible for the Verification and Validation of Enterprise Imaging software products and solutions.

This person works closely with global R&D teams to assess and provide feedback on all Enterprise Imaging products and documentation, and contributes in knowledge transfer activities to Regional Sales & Service organizations.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the verification and validation of the specified requirements during development, Non-clinical and Clinical validation
  • Responsible for the creation, execution, and maintenance of test cases, demonstration databases and various scenarios for verification and validation purposes
  • Effectively communicate to the development staff the potential product defects and provide feedback on the products and documentation
  • Create accurate defect reports which communicate customer impact and provide information to assist with the defect investigation and resolution
  • Ability to assemble and configure the integrate Enterprise Imaging solution under test
  • Ability to analyze problems and troubleshoot potential product defects
  • Work with development teams to instill testability into development practices
  • Skills & Competencies :

  • Proficiency in knowledge of technologies XML / XSL, JSON, or REST services
  • Proficiency with SQL queries and BASH Scripting skills
  • Proficient with Oracle, SQL, UNIX / Linux database and operating systems
  • Proficient with operating systems at the admin level (e.g. Linux, Windows, and Solaris)
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware and connectivity
  • Deep knowledge of networking protocols, routing, subnet, and configuration
  • Experience with internal and external attack and penetration methodologies and results a definite asset
  • Good working knowledge of bug tracking and source version control principles
  • Proficiency in test case development (manual & automated), executing test strategies, exploratory testing , plans, and cases from technical, architecture, and design requirement documents
  • Clear understanding of software development life cycles and testing methodologies
  • Strong understanding of all levels of functional software testing including system, regression, interoperability, and acceptance testing
  • Attention to detail; ability to quickly absorb new concepts and technologies
  • Superior writing & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks independently
  • Training skills, excellent (oral and written) communication skills, excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Healthcare Industry Standards (e.g. HL7 and DICOM) a definite asset
  • Education & Experience :

  • BA or BSc Computer Science, Mathematics or other associated health sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 3+ years experience in software support and / or testing
