Systematix is currently looking for aIT Support Analyst (Level 2) tohelp with the ongoing operation of a diverse global IT Operations environment, for one of the world’s leaders in Life Sciences technologies.
This role is specific to localized support for their Canadian Operations.
Our client is one of the world’s leading Life Sciences companies, with offices around the globe. Working as IT SupportAnalyst for the Client technologies division, you will be responsible for providing Level 2 support (post help desk) for IT Operations including service desk, system administration, development, security and support of all relevant IT infrastructure, systems and applications.
ABOUT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Providing user and administrative support for desktop and local server systems.
Providing technical guidance to users and management for desktop support and local server systems.
Providing local guidance for IT security concerns and best practice
Participating in projects or teams as directed by the Manager / Supervisor.
Assisting Manager / Supervisor in development of desktop support and local server systems strategy.
Performing maintenance and troubleshooting of all relevant hardware and software.
Implementation and support of network operating systems and services.
Configuration, installation & deployment of all PC’s and PC related peripherals.
Configuration, installation, deployment & support of desktop management suite.
Supporting local manufacturing systems.
Developing and maintaining appropriate desktop and server related procedures and ensure these procedures are enforced.
Developing & maintaining appropriate disaster recovery procedures.
Developing a working knowledge of department specific applications.
Keeping abreast of technical aspects of PC-LAN computing environment.
Providing project management for implementations and roll-outs.
Providing Manager / Supervisor with equipment projections and assist with purchasing.
Identifying opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service, efficiency and effectiveness.
ABOUT YOUR NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS :
Associate’s Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent)
Up-to-date professional IT certification
3+ year experience of providing end user desktop support
3+ year experience of PC applications / operating systems / hardware
Good knowledge of IT hardware and associated peripherals
Good knowledge of Microsoft operating system and Office applications
Ability to use technical documentation and diagnostic tools to solve hardware and software problems
Ability to perform risk assessments.
Provide out of hours support.
ABOUT THE ROLE :
This is a 6-month contract to hire position (both parties must be amenable) located in North Toronto.
