Position Summary : We are searching for a Human Resources leader who is motivated by growth potential, continuous improvement, and deeply passionate about developing human capital strategies that align with and optimize achievement of key business outcomes.

    Reporting into the Lead, Strategic HR Partnerships, the Strategic HR Partner works closely with executive leaders and their senior management teams to enable the effective tailoring of HR support and delivery to meet the specific requirements of a defined business group portfolio.

    Acting as a trusted advisor, the individual in this role takes the lead in identifying, creating, and driving key people strategies, and by collaborating with business leaders to improve organizational performance and measure people outcomes.

    This includes identifying, understanding and articulating the talent issues impacting each business area : talent sufficiency, capabilities, team dynamics, decision making, and restructuring.

    In addition, the Partner is responsible for ensuring the targeted implementation and optimization of enterprise HR programs across their portfolio and for providing support to the Lead, Strategic HR Partnerships where needed to support the most pressing talent opportunities and challenges for the business.

  • This role requires an experienced HR leader who can easily and naturally balance strategy as well as tactical execution when needed;
  • collaborating and leading business-focused initiatives while leveraging the People Advisory Services team to manage transactional activity effectively and efficiently for employees and managers.

    To support this, the individual in this role is accountable for working with HR and business partners to find ways to improve the employee experience and overall leadership capacity and capability within their portfolio.

    Our ideal candidate profile : You are a true business partner : This role requires continuous interaction and collaboration with senior leaders on a variety of business-related topics, and you have extensive experience addressing and overcoming challenges related to complex people issues.

    You provide leadership coaching and advice to help business leaders understand the people implications of business strategies and decisions, and act as a cultural advocate, ensuring that leaders are fully aligned and consistently role modelling our values and behaviours.

    You have deep expertise helping leaders and their teams navigate reorganizations, complex employee relations issues, and organizational change management.

    You thrive in a high growth, fast-paced organization : You have experience supporting organizations through extended periods of rapid, multi-functional growth, and understand the HR challenges that often accompany accelerated business scaling.

    You are energized by multi-tasking and creative problem-solving and know how to work effectively within a broad, multi-functional HR team.

    You have experience implementing processes and programs to create and support an inclusive work environment across multiple locations and time zones.

    You are well versed in organizational design with extensive experience supporting operations in both Canada and the U.S.

    and you can easily explain and consult on which HR policy and legislative requirements vary by State and Province. You’re an HR expert : You have in-depth knowledge of Human Resources laws, strategies, policies, and practices.

    You’re a master at interpreting complex requirements, defining procedures, refining and implementing strategic policies, and selecting evaluation criteria to measure results against HR and Corporate objectives.

    You have a deep understanding and appreciation for the Centres of Expertise model, and create regular dialogue and knowledge sharing with your peers on other HR teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and are being appropriately actioned to enable delivery of our talent strategy and employment value proposition.

    You’re a strategic advisor and team player : You understand the complex challenges senior leaders face in a dynamic, changing business environment.

    As such, you’re well prepared to support and consult on leadership development, talent calibration, company culture initiatives, and performance management.

    You are also committed to supporting and growing with other members of the team, and work best when collaborating, sharing, and learning with others.

    You have solid business acumen : You build strategic partnerships and relationships with senior leaders to solve complex, HR-focused business challenges.

    You are well versed in HR mid to long term growth plans, organizational and departmental culture and values. You also provide HR solutions to effectively manage costs, anticipate needs, nurture talent, minimize risk, and optimize departmental employee performance.

    What you bring to the role :

  • An outstanding ability to build high-impact people-focused relationships across all organizational levels, based on mutual trust and value, and exceptional interpersonal, communication and change management capabilities.
  • Ability to quickly triage issues, consult while seeking to understand, generate solutions, make difficult decisions, and apply sound judgment and the highest levels of integrity in resolving complex situations.
  • Excellent project management and consultation skills are required, as is the judgement to know when and how to escalate appropriately.

  • An entrepreneurial spirit with the persistence to implement solutions collaboratively and iteratively through organizational complexity, and a natural ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with continuous change.
  • Proven ability to solve complex and challenging problems. Decisions involve interpretation and analysis of many different factors and may require generating new solutions from which decisions will be made.
  • Experience in the design and business application of people-related metrics and data analytics.
  • We have a preference for candidates with proven HR leadership and partnering experience at high-growth, mid-to-large scale organizations, within the tech industry.
  • In addition, prior P&L and / or team management experience outside of HR would be a strong asset.

  • Post-secondary degree with a specialization in business management or Human Resources.
