Canadian Tire is looking for a motivated individual to own and drive the roadmap for the tools and platforms required to enable our Agile environment.

An ideal candidate will work closely with our IT Practices team, Agile CoE, Technology Transformation Team, Delivery teams and Governance stakeholders to ensure that we have the right tools configured in the right way to support our organization.

What You'll Do

The TPO will be accountable for delivering an experience that is seamless and usable by our delivery teams, while still providing the right level of reporting and audit support required by the organization.

In this role, you will :

  • Ensure that our Agile toolsets are designed to easily enable teams to manage their backlogs, integrate with CI / CD pipelines and change management systems, and relevant dashboards required for reporting
  • Consult with Chapters and Delivery Teams on the usage and adoption of plugins, APIs, integrations, and workflows
  • Manage access, licenses, and operational usage of the Agile Toolsets
  • Maintain support and provide training related to Agile Tools
  • Provide governance and reporting related to IT General Controls and Agile KPIs
  • Constantly evaluate the usability and effectiveness of the toolsets, and make changes as needed to better meet the needs of the users and the organization
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with Chapter leads, Agile CoE, Governance and Internal Audit, and product leads from stakeholder areas to develop and lead the execution of the platform roadmap, shaping the end-to-end platform strategy and link to business value while engaging with multiple cross-functional stakeholders
  • Actively participate in the Agile Coach & Scrum Master community groups to share best practices and understand Agile team challenges
  • Accountable for the Product backlog, including writing and prioritizing backlog items (epics / features / user stories)
  • Perform acceptance testing on user stories meeting the squads defined Definition of Done’ (DoD) each sprint.
  • Accountable for the operational health of the platform, ensuring the platform can meet its defined SLAs, and reporting on the SLAs to stakeholders
  • Clearly communicate issues, ideas and concepts (verbally and written) between business and technical parties. Advocate for product and maintain good stakeholder communication.
  • Assist with the creation of dashboards and metrics of Agile Teams rolled up at a product or portfolio level
  • What You've Done

  • Experience building reporting and dashboards which can be consumed by multiple levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to build and manage world-class products
  • Demonstrated experience using data and analytics to drive data-informed product-related decisions
  • 5+ years experience working with technology teams in a large corporation
  • 5+ years of experience in using Agile and Lean methodologies working with Agile teams
  • 3-5 years hands on experience with Jira, Confluence, and related tools
  • 3-5 years experience with other key tools in a CI / CD pipeline and DevOps organization, such as Jenkins, Rundeck, Junit, Selenium, test management tools, and security audit tools such as Veracode
  • Jira admin / product owner experience is an asset
  • Experience with Service Now is an asset

  • Understanding of the technology that underlies the product
  • An excellent communicator, with the ability to engage, influence, inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment
