Job Description :

Contract Position for 22 Months

    Group Benefits Disability Payments is looking for a dynamic and skilled individual who is willing to join a fast-paced and challenging Project environment.

    As a member of the Project team, this role is accountable to deliver superior customer service to support our plan members and plan sponsors.

    This includes working in a fast-paced project environment, managing and issuing monthly disability claim payments accurately and efficiently.

    The successful candidate should possess strong mathematical skills, with effective communication skills and the ability to prioritize and handle large volumes of work.

    As a Payment Project Specialist : You will deliver excellent customer service. This function includes key accountabilities that require strong commitment to quality and service that is highly valued by our Plan Sponsors and Plan Members.

    Reporting to the Team Leader, Group Disability, Payment Project Team, your accountabilities will include :

    What will you do?

  • Timely and effective analysis of complex Long Term Disability Benefit payments to ensure they are accurately calculated
  • Accurately reviewing and interpreting contractual wording to determine the amount of benefit, applicable offsets and duration of benefit and other benefit provisions
  • Tracking accurate information & reporting of issues
  • Ongoing communication with Project leaders on highly sensitive client issues
  • Participating in and contributing to Project meetings with all levels of leadership
  • Processing and applying reimbursements from various sources such as CPP / QPP, WSIB, CSST, etc.
  • Responding proactively to client inquiries or concerns
  • Completing all work with high attention to detail and accuracy within pre-set timelines
  • Working collaboratively with both internal and external business partners
  • Identifying and suggesting opportunities for continuous improvements.
  • Assets :

  • Bilingualboth verbal and written
  • Client service experience

  • The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.

    In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.

    Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
