The Marketing Team at Benevity is taking the next step in its journey to infuse a culture of goodness in the world are you ready to join a company dedicated to doing good?

We are seeking a Media and Communications Manager for a one-year term (maternity leave replacement) to build and execute effective mainstream and trade media plans, working closely with our PR agency, that boost our global awareness and elevate our position as a category leader in corporate purpose.

What You Will Do :

  • Work with the Director, Content Marketing and Communications to build and execute a robust media plan and foster relationships with key trade media in this space.
  • Work collaboratively with PR agency to oversee, manage and inform Benevity’s PR Calendar to ensure we have a solid drumbeat of stories in the industry to support Benevity’s overall narrative.
  • Work with industry research partners to identify PR opportunities
  • Develop PR narratives by leveraging Benevity stats and stories curated from Benevity Impact Labs, Client Success Managers, Cause Relations, Analytics and Insights and other SMEs.
  • Prepare executives for speaking engagements and media interviews; oversee the creation of bylines, press releases, pitches, emails and briefing sheets and written interview responses
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to create PR strategies to promote new partnerships, product launches and broad marketing campaigns
  • Identify and submit for executive speaking opportunities and industry award opportunities
  • Work with writers, designers and freelancers to create compelling PR content
  • Manage PR budget and ensure Benevity has the right technology to effectively monitor, measure and reach target audiences
  • Monitor and track relevant news, produce weekly clip report, pulse check on the state of media
  • Work collaboratively with PR agency to prepare monthly and quarterly media reports to illustrate Benevity’s media and brand performance
  • Leverage social media channels effectively to extend and share Benevity news
  • What You Will Bring :

  • University degree in journalism or equivalent experience
  • At least 7 years of PR / media relations experience
  • Proven success in PR agency management, securing mainstream and trade media coverage that boost awareness as well as building and executing effective PR plans
  • Understanding of how to leverage social media to amplify company news and get engagement
  • Highly developed interpersonal and written / spoken communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams
  • Relationship building skills for effective media relationships
  • Can influence others and bring stakeholders along the journey to help elevate Benevity’s brand position
  • Growth mindset, strong business acumen and use critical thinking to navigate through new opportunities in assessing the impact vs. effort
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to independently solve problems related to the role and projects
  • Strong negotiation skills with a passion to create win : win opportunities
  • Ability to form and maintain lasting partnerships and establish mutual trust with our vendors / partners
  • Expert level writing skills, including experience writing bylines, blogs, press releases and content
  • Proven experience using PR and social media tools and analytics platforms (e.g. Cision, Meltwater, newswires, HootSuite, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, etc.)
