The Role

Our Human Resource Specialist will report directly to the Human Resource Manager and is responsible for supporting Club leaders through the implementation and coordination of policies and programs that encompass all aspects of human resources strategy. You will also :

  • Organizational Development Develop and deliver strategies for supporting managers in their responsibility for employee development and organizational and cultural change
  • Employee Relations Provide coaching to all management on issues surrounding employee agreements and general employment relationships
  • Performance Management Provide coaching and counseling to managers on performance management and rewards and recognition
  • Talent Attraction Work with the Talent Acquisition team to manage the Club recruitment process
  • Payroll & New Hire Processes Submit payroll, vacation, benefits, new-hire, resignation and termination paperwork. You will also assist with the onboarding and orientation of new employees
  • Facilitate the implementation of human resource programs originating from Corporate and ensures the Club understands and accounts for these programs
  • In partnership with Leadership work on assigned special projects
  • Develop trust-based credible working relationship with all managers and team members
  • Promotes a culture and environment consistent with company values and standards
  • The Qualifications

  • Minimum University degree plus 1-3 years of progressive human resource experience in the hospitality / retail industry is preferable
  • Experience in any of the following areas is preferable : organizational design, training & employee engagement, compensation & benefits, and health and safety.
  • Ability to act with tact, diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Energetic, effective and responsive
  • Demonstrates a roll up the sleeves mentality and ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in computing (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS systems)
  • Ability to work 1 weekend per month and 1 afternoon / evening shift per week
