Job Description

  • Provides thought leadership and creativity driving innovation by helping guide the next-generation products portfolio.
  • Maintain knowledge of the storage, processor and memory technology marketplaces, understand best practices, trends and developments, track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics ensuring the company is able to enjoy a competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with technology partners and customers understand their roadmaps and help Microchip develop and deliver unique differentiated product offering.
  • Contribute to the product definition process by collaborating with customers, marketing and engineering teams and ensure clearly defined product requirements enabling the company to execute on delivering products.
  • Turn the division’s technology vision, strategies and growth into an approved product plans.
  • Provide leadership to the company’s standards efforts defining how components connect and communicate enabling interoperability within the marketplace.
  • Create, align and drive strategies to meet product development roadmaps and business objectives.
  • Job Requirements

  • Should possess at least fifteen years’ experience with at least ten years spent in progressively more responsible technical leadership positions.
  • Highly beneficial to understand solid-state storage, memory and / or microprocessor technologies and products possessing a systems level of understanding of NAND, DRAM, high-speed serial interfaces, SSD, SCM and / or processors / servers.
  • Experience with ASIC architecture, design, validation and firmware development flows.
  • The successful candidate will be self-confident, inspirational, customer-focused and proactive with a proven ability to produce results in a dynamic, state-of-the-art technology environment.
  • Must possess an ability to take informed risks, plan strategically, make difficult business decisions and communicate the impact of such decisions to ensure buy-in a timely manner.
  • Exceptional communicator with an ability to articulate the long-term vision and direction of an organization. Ability to communicate strategies and plans to senior executive staff is important.
  • Position requires significant North American and some international travel to engage with customers, IP providers and development / marketing teams.
  • Technical strength necessary to establish credibility with the various R&D organizations should be balanced by a charismatic and motivational leadership style.
  • Possess a collaborative approach and style be able to effectively communicate across the company at both the division and corporate levels
