Job Description : Role Summary
The Senior Analytics Consultant will work in close collaboration with the Finance Director, Client Metrics and the Client Experience Office (CXO) to support the development of Client Lifetime Value (CLTV) framework, Client metrics, and accompanying financial measures.
This framework will consist of a new set of tools to evaluate product-level performance that will help senior leaders make decisions on topics ranging from Client segmentation and product design to marketing and distribution strategy.
This is a great opportunity if you are a data scientist / analytics consultant that possesses finance or actuarial knowledge and the ability to build out the data and analytics capabilities on the Canadian Finance team.
What will you do?
Support the development of SL Canada Client metrics quarterly reporting that will bring a Client-centric view to financial reporting and Client level insights across business units, by leveraging multiple data source systems and integration layers, using a variety of tools, programming languages, and statistical models
Build out the analytics capabilities, data and system knowledge, and the Client reporting processes on the Canadian Finance team
Support the development of the Client reporting process from data and system requirements, reviewing and testing CLTV models, to benchmarking and visualization
Collaborate with Finance and Business partners across SL Canada to provide Client data and analytic insights on CLTV business applications.
If necessary, support pilots within business teams to evaluate real-world business impact.
Apply financial business knowledge and predictive analytics to improve the granularity of the CLTV framework in the highest value areas.
Ask questions and develop hypotheses, leveraging data and analytics to uncover insights.
Stay abreast of emerging innovations and best practices related to Client metrics, CLTV, and data science trends.

What will you need to succeed?
Minimum undergraduate degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial or equivalent
Minimum of 4 years experience in SAS and other languages (i.e. Python / R / SQL) used in data manipulation and analysis
Minimum of 4 years experience in developing ETL processes of large datasets from multiple sources
Minimum of 2 year experience in developing and implementing data science models (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive) and using them to solve business problems
Minimum of 1 years experience in Tableau or other visualization software designing dashboards and decision enablement tools
Demonstrated experience in developing analytics applications or data analysis, including communicating insights to senior leadership
Ability to effectively present complex data and insights to a variety of audiences
Ability to build partnerships and create relationships with a variety of stakeholders
Strong critical thinking & creative problem solving
Experience in life insurance, investment management, finance, or actuarial is an asset
