Our client is looking for a Training Consultant for a contract position in Vancouver, BC .
The Training Consultant will develop and provide a variety of education material, primarily for internal stakeholders, that is designed to support system, policy, procedure, process and legislative implementations.
Lead the planning of organizational-wide and / or division specific educational campaigns by researching, and developing curriculum projects and learning resources.
Plan, design, develop, deliver and consult on the design of sustainable training and instructional programs, using instructor-led, train-the trainer, electronic / web-based, and / or multimedia training methods and formats.
Develop, coordinate, and provide training and instruction utilizing technical platforms, and facilitate and encourage the use of technical platforms as a means of delivering academic / instructional content.
Conduct needs assessments to identify and evaluate training needs, develop training and instructional solutions, and assess training requirements for high impact technology training.
Recommend and / or implement innovative solutions, modifications and enhancements to technology training programs, and facilitate and encourage the adoption of technical platforms to enhance the delivery of academic and / or instructional content.
Develop and implement evaluation processes to ensure training and professional development approaches are effective and achieve desired results.
Lead and organize curriculum and development committees, (including representatives from other ministries, agencies, jurisdictions, and stakeholder groups, as required) to identify needs, develop material, and deliver training sessions for staff / stakeholders regarding policies, procedures and interpretations of legislation as it relates to the services provided by the client.
Receive and respond to requests for assistance and support from the client’s corporate trainers.
Develop and enhance learning materials, determining layout, style, tools and organization and distribution methods.
Review all education materials to ensure language and information is easily understood by staff.
Plan and deliver formal presentations and training seminars to internal personnel and ensure equitable distribution of training and information resources to same.
Develop training materials that includes training handbooks, job aids, models, multimedia visual aids, computer and web-based tutorials, and standard operating procedures.
Provide and / or assist with consulting services related to training and / or technical training for organization-wide initiatives and projects, including participating in the design, development and implementation of training programs of a broad organizational scope.
Research and study advancements in learning management systems (LMS), educational technologies, and instructional design methods;
Evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs, utilizing appropriate data collection instruments and procedures.
Coordinate or perform administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.
Work within the existing LMS architecture to deploy eLearning content.
Adhere to eLearning best practices.
Evaluate, recommend and implement third party learning solutions, materials and media, as appropriate.
Measure the effectiveness and impact of learning solutions and use the data to continuously improve the client’s learning solutions.
Learn new tools and technology to provide the best experience for the learners.
Write documentation supporting the learning architecture, navigation and functional design.
Identify improvements to the LMS that are later turned into technical requirements.
Utilize SCORM or xAPI compliant coding or software that will function in the LMS or other learning, collaboration and knowledge management systems.
Set up required audio visual equipment and create audio and video recordings as required to develop learning solutions / materials.
Support the design and development of learning solutions that accommodate the limitations and opportunities of various platforms and authoring tools such as Microsoft SharePoint, Articulate StoryLine and others.
Qualifications and Experience :
College diploma or university degree in education or adult education, or eligibility for certification by the Teacher Regulation Branch of BC;
5 years experience within the past 7 years developing curriculum for adults;
5 years experience within the past 7 years teaching adults;
3 years experience within the past 5 years planning, developing and implementing training & professional development initiatives;
3 years experience within the past 5 years in leading and facilitating projects, including working with multiple stakeholders to deliver a training program; and
3 years experience within the past 5 years using Articulate / Storyline to develop eLearning modules.
