Overview of the opportunity :
Global Finance delivers most ongoing finance activities from outsourced providers. The KPMG resources in Global Finance are focused on providing value added activities which can only be delivered from within the firm.
Global Finance is responsible for managing all financial budgeting and reporting for KPMG International and its subsidiaries.
This includes the following :
Levy and collection issue levy and recharge to member firms, collections and reporting
Payable and disbursements invoice processing, approval and payments for over 50+ significant functions
Management and financial reporting interim and annual audited financial statements; actual versus budget monitoring and reporting;
loans and investments summary; capitalization and maintenance of capital asset register
Direct and indirect taxes to ensure complex compliance with several foreign reporting tax jurisdictions; prepare corporate tax filings for filings in various countries
Treasury functions weekly and monthly cash flow projections; manage the initiation and maturity of currency hedges
What you will do :
Key accountabilities : Financial reporting including year-end activities, capitalization, contract modelling and compliance, management reporting, operational finance support
Preparation of subsidiary financial statements : liaise with the global tax and legal department to ensure reporting compliance of the various subsidiary companies with the group
Year end audit coordinator : manage the various year end closing activities with respect to the consolidated management financial statements ensuring that all activities are completed within a tight timeframe
Management reporting : consolidate commentaries from the over 50+ functions of actual performance against budget amounts on a monthly and specifically on a quarterly basis;
oversee junior manager in ensuring that all costs are properly accrued; connect with budget holders / controllers to better understand actual results and year end forecast
Capitalization of intangibles : review various projects to identify capitalization amounts in accordance with International Reporting Standards;
discuss with sponsoring partner and project lead to get background information; analyze the operating impact of actual capitalization against budgeted capitalization;
summarize and accumulate general ledger transactions to support the amounts capitalized; conduct quarterly update calls with various functions to monitor the process of projects and impact on projected capitalization amounts
Review of supplier contracts : coordinate with the global procurement department in the initial stages of multi-year contract negotiations with major supplier;
perform P&L modelling to assess financial impact on operating costs and summarize implications for future budgeting amounts
Financial compliance with existing contracts : for all existing significant contracts in effect (for example with SAP and Microsoft) review to ensure that payments are made in accordance with the terms of the contract and the appropriate P&L amounts are charged to the income statements and prepaid amounts are appropriately recorded and as necessary the applicable amounts in respect of these contracts are recharged to various member firms with the KPMG network
Budget review : ensure timely and accurate budget submission; validate budget amounts; recheck budget output in SAP; build and manage relationship with budget stakeholders;
coordinate with the budgeting and planning group
Supervise junior manager in the following areas : managing cost center structure and uploading of approval matrix; actual versus budget reporting templates;
prepayments; direct tax returns
Pay run review : periodic involvement to ensure that the proposed disbursements are in accordance with the pre-established approval matrix;
supplier banking details match the invoices and that invoices from various KPMG member firms are in accordance with the internal recharge policies
Other ad hoc projects : other financial and management reporting tasks as will be assigned from time to time for example review of levy computation to be charged to member firms;
summarizing and review of taxation charges; review of financing and exchange gain / loss computations

Keys to your success
At least 8 to 10 years of financial accounting experience preferably in a large multinational environment
Public practice experience in an auditing firm
Knowledge of SAP is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advance Excel skills
Undergraduate degree in business or finance or accounting
Professional accounting designation
