Position Summary

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) in Kamloops BC is looking for an experienced Endoscopy Nurse certified in Gastro-Intestinal (GI) Nursing to join our Ambulatory Care team.

RIH is a tertiary hospital serving the Thompson / Cariboo / Shuswap region of Interior Health. The Ambulatory Care department operates based on rotating day shifts Monday to Friday, with on-

call. Minor surgeries, including Plastic Surgery, ENT are performed, as well as Minor Treatments, Urology, Gynecology, IV Therapy, and Endoscopy.

This is a relief full time position until the return of the incumbent (approximately June 2019). On-call is attached as required.

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
  • Two (2) years recent related ambulatory care experience which includes experience in minor surgical, oncology, and / or medical specialty clinics in an acute care facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Endoscopy - Certification in gastro intestinal (GI) Nursing and a minimum of two years recent, related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment;
  • or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Completion of recognized post-basic education in perioperative nursing (including theory and practicum in scrub and circulating roles)
