Our Hospital and Nursing Home are located in the Town of Arnprior, less than 30 minutes northwest of Ottawa.

There are approximately 320 staff, 200 volunteers, and a growing number of medical staff providing exemplary care to over 30,000 residents of West Ottawa, McNab / Braeside, Arnprior and portions of Mississippi Mills.

We are growing! A significant redevelopment project is underway for our Grove Nursing Home which is increasing from 60 beds, to 96 beds to better support our community.

This year we expect construction to begin on a brand new Home for our residents, with an anticipated completion date of 2020.

We currently have an opportunity available for a Full-Time Resident Care Coordinator at our Nursing Home. This position will maintain responsibility for the daily planning and co-

ordination of resident care, supervision of nursing staff (RNs, RPNs, PSWs), infection control monitoring and providing leadership to the Home in collaboration with and under the direction of the Director of Care.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing supervision of nursing and personal care services to ensure an outstanding level of resident care is maintained and enhanced
  • Ensure that care meets compliance requirements under the Long Term Care Act.
  • Provide leadership and a supportive environment that promotes the mission, vision and values of the Home in addition to providing full coverage for the Director of Care, in her absence.
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven leadership experience in a Long-Term Care setting
  • RN in good standing with the CNO required with current BCLS
  • BScN and Gerontology Certificate preferred
  • Availability requirement to be on-call
  • Experience in leading quality improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of the Long Term Care Home Act and Resident Quality Inspection process and accreditation processes
  • Working knowledge of RAI MDS, Point Click Care and EMAR collective agreements and resolve or manage issues that may arise
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, coordination, time management and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, results-focused and able to follow through initiatives effectively and efficiently
  • Flexibility to participate in an on-call schedule with other members of the leadership team
  • Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Certificate
