As a mechanical design engineer, you will be required to work in all phases of client projects (system design, engineering specification writing, assembly, installation, start-up and validation).

As such, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that integrates the company’s technologies and expertise into robotic systems for customers.

You will also have to participate in the implementation of the PDM vault for new AV&R products.

Responsibilities and Main Duties

  • Design the mechanical portion of robotic systems
  • Model systems using SolidWorks software
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings and select commercial components
  • Design and prepare drawings of pneumatic circuits
  • Participate in the bidding and contracting of customized and commercial components
  • Liaise with manufacturers and product representatives to develop solutions
  • Supervise system assembly, may be required to participate
  • Perform system performance tests
  • Identify and develop innovative solutions to meet customer demands
  • Track project costs and timelines
  • Participate in the installation and start-up of automated systems at customer’s site
  • Perform any other related tasks
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
  • 2 years minimum experience in mechanical design of automated or robotic systems
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks software
  • Able to work in a team
  • Professionalism, strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate leadership and autonomy
  • Must be meticulous, passionate, conscientious and creative
  • Proficient in French and English, spoken and written
  • Ability to work in a simultaneous engineering environment
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence
  • Available for traveling abroad (20% of the time)
  • Other Assets / Skills

  • Member of the O.I.Q.
  • Experience in mechanical design of automated or robotic systems
  • Strong knowledge of PDM vault software
  • Knowledge of machine safety standards
