Software Employment Type Full Time - Regular
The Vetronics Software team has a requirement for a Junior or Intermediate Software Engineer to support multiple programs in the Vetronics product area.
The successful candidate for this position will contribute directly to the design and implementation of embedded software for the legacy Smart Display product line.
Your Day to Day :
The Vetronics team's software runs close to the hardware. We measure our boot time in milliseconds. There is no huge Java VM or Apache web server backend framework running our code -
in some cases there is an embedded Linux kernel, in some cases a thin embedded operating system, and in some cases there is no operating system at all.
We write code for ARM processors and microprocessors. Think : code that's written for an Odroid, Arduino or Raspberry Pi, but take it to the next level.
Our programs are fast paced and require team work. A typical Vetronics SW development cycle is measured in weeks, maybe months, never years, so there’s always a new challenge and always something to learn.
OS : Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, shell, bitbake / embedded), Windows 7 / 10
Languages : C / C++, python3, Bourne shell scripts
Interfaces : I2C, SPI, JTAG, USB, Ethernet (TCP / IP networking, SSH), CAN bus
Tools : ClearCase / ClearQuest, Bitbucket (git), Jenkins (continuous integration and automated test), Docker, Confluence, Collaborator, DOORs
