Under the general direction of the Manager, Renovations and Capital Works, the Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating timely and effective completion of Capital Work Requests and Capital renovation projects.
This includes but is not limited to, consulting with clients, engineers, architects, and contractors, generating project contract documentation (drawings and specifications), space planning design, moving request and event coordination, furniture and finish coordination, supervision and monitoring of contractors for adherence / quality assurance and reporting on project progress.
The successful candidate will possess, at minimum, a 3 year diploma / degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Technology or a related field, with education or training in project management and facilities management, along with three years related work experience preferably in coordinating renovation activities in an institutional environment.
PMP certification would be an asset. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical is also considered an asset. The incumbent must have excellent organizational, planning and coordination skills, the ability to schedule effectively and maintain tight deadlines, the ability to identify causes of delay and possible solutions, good interpersonal relations / customer service skills to work with internal clients and external contractors and trades, and a demonstrated knowledge of regulations and standards pertaining to the position.
In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated skills in space planning / design conceptualization, be proficient in AUTOCAD and have good working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
