Position Summary

We're looking for a highly motivated individual to assume the role of Trading Underwriter for the Automobile Business (Fleet and Garage) in our Global Specialty Lines (GSL) division.

Working on large commercial and specialty risks, you will be responsible for managing the profitability and growth of the GSL book of business through disciplined underwriting.

You will be actively involved in developing growth opportunities and managing relationships with our brokers. This could include the development of new products as well as the development of large new business opportunities.

As a senior member of the team, you will also play a role in developing underwriting skills for junior team members.

What you'll do in the role

  • Develop strong Broker relationships
  • Maintain high levels of productivity
  • Communicate RSA’s Corporate Value Proposition to brokers
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to brokers
  • Ensure quality underwriting standards are met
  • Negotiate mutually acceptable solutions to underwriting proposals with brokers
  • What you'll need

  • Minimum 3-5 years in commercial fleet and garage underwriting
  • High level of technical competence in commercial underwriting
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Willingness for continuous improvement
  • University Degree or College Diploma
  • Completed or working toward CIP / FCIP designation
