BGIS is looking for a Security Clearance Coordinator to join our growing team! The Security Clearance Coordinator will be a member of the Corporate Security team, and will support the personnel security program in compliance with both BGIS corporate policies / contracts, and the Industrial Security Manual (ISM), in connection with the Government of Canada’s Industrial Security Program (ISP).
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review, Document, Process, and Facilitate BGIS team member and contractor / service provider access requests, ID requests, and provide oversight in relation to personnel security compliance.
Process requests for individuals who require access to Protected / Classified information, assets, or Protected / Classified work sites and ensure that accurate and complete personnel security screening documentation is submitted for such individuals.
Ensure that individuals receive required security briefings upon notification of having been granted Access or Security Clearance.
Ensure required documentation is submitted in order to terminate the Security Clearance of those individuals who no longer require access to Protected / Classified information and assets or controlled sites in accordance with contractual requirements.
Maintain a current list of security screened individuals and access permissions in accordance with contractural agreements.
Ensure that individuals working at client sites are briefed concerning any relevant security requirements.
Ensure that personnel security screening files are properly safeguarded.
Interface with clients and contractor / service providers on security related issues.
Be BGIS’s official contact with the client to ensure that security issues are properly addressed and properly coordinated.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
EDUCATION, JOB-RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION : High school completion plus a specialized technical or business course
JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE : 1-3 years or more
Knowledge & Skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain Reliability Status with the Government of Canada's Industrial Security Program.
Bilingual : French and English, spoken and written.
Knowledge of supporting security disciplines, including document control, visit certifications, personnel security processing, and security processes and procedures.
Knowledge and a working understanding of general personnel security screening documentation and results such as but not limited to : CPIC and Credit Reports.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to various audiences and all levels of the organization, both verbally and through written communications.
Must be dependable, responsive, customer-focused and possess the qualities of diplomacy, tact, excellent judgment, discretion and initiative and perform in a multi-tasked and dynamic environment.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated and thorough experience using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel Spreadsheets and various databases.
Requires the ability to make sound decisions, manage time, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions.
