The Municipality requires an experienced engineer who can provide leadership and strategic advice in the areas of infrastructure, engineering, capital asset management, municipal water distribution / treatment, wastewater collection / treatment, drainage systems and street / sidewalk maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director of Engineering & Public Works, Land & Parks, the successful candidate will perform the following duties : Manage the Municipality's Capital Program involving water / wastewater treatment and distribution systems, roads, drainage systems, sidewalks, trails, recreation facilities and building infrastructure.
cycle analysis, risk management, scheduling, resource management and implementation / commissioningDevelop asset management plans and long-term budget forecasts related to municipal infrastructureProvide technical and engineering advice relating to projects / operations to Municipal Council, Committee of the Whole and Council CommitteesAdminister consulting, construction and maintenance RFPs / contracts related to municipal infrastructure and facilities.
registered as a Professional Engineer with Engineers NS.5 years of experience related to Municipal Engineering and infrastructure required.
Experience in a municipal government setting would be considered an asset.Experience with project management and procurement would be considered an asset.

Other InformationHours of work are Monday through Friday 8 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM (35 hours / week). Occasional evening meetings may be required.
Compensation includes a competitive salary, benefits, and pension plan (Defined Contribution : 8% Employer / 8% Employee Match).
Salary will be a Manager Level of the Municipal Non-Union Pay Scale - $75,000 to $97,500.Offer of employment is conditional upon the completion of all applicable background checks and confirmation of credentials, the results of which must be satisfactory to the employer or will result in termination of your employment.
