Bring your exceptional leadership skills and demonstrated experience in project planning and design to this exciting position.

As a Manager of Planning & Projects, you will lead facility project teams in business case development, project, design, planning and construction for the Richmond Community of Care (CoC) to include Acute, Residential and Community facilities in Richmond.

The flagship for the CoC is Richmond Hospital, with 200 beds is a large community hospital servicing the needs of residents in Richmond, Delta, as well as travellers using the Vancouver International and BC Ferries.

A new patient tower business case has now been approved to proceed for the Richmond Hospital and a number of infrastructure, clinical and operational projects are being planned and implemented to maintain, renovate and improve the hospital.

The Richmond Community of Care currently has six subsidized residential care facilities throughout the city, including extended residential care at two sites, a residential care facility, and a group home.

The Richmond Lions Manor is undergoing a replacement and a temporary facility on Bridgeport Road was leased and converted to house 93 complex care beds to allow replacement of the manor.

Currently, community health services in Richmond are distributed across five leased and three owned sites and at the Richmond Hospital acute site.

The needs of community services that have evolved in inadequate spaces or locations, or outgrown their locations, are being re-

planned. The opportunity to integrate, streamline and / or physically align services to best reflect current and future delivery models for community care is being undertaken with a new Community Health Access Centre on Alderbridge Road.

Build on your education and career experience as you :

  • Manage the delivery of design and construction projects for the Richmond Community of Care.
  • Lead the teams and serve as the senior-level client contact for planning and project activities within the portfolio to ensure consistency with strategic and capital plans.
  • Serve as a member of the Planning & Projects leadership team and participate in the development and approval of annual goals, objectives, processes, best practices, standards and tools to be used in the delivery of projects.
  • Develop and lead the project plan. Establish detailed project charters, plans and objectives to outline project goals and deliverables and establish project team structures by identifying needs and skills required for the project.
  • Develop and lead the construction procurement and lead the implementation of the new construction and renovations, leading the work of assigned project managers.
  • Build partnerships across a diverse spectrum of partners including clinical leadership, staff, physicians, support staff, facilities staff, consultants, and contractors.
  • Are you motivated to join our team? We will be looking for you to have the following :

  • A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning or a related discipline
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years' recent, related experience in dynamically more complex leadership roles in a large multi-site organization
  • Experience leading the planning, design and construction of facilities and / or other major organizational projects
  • A solid background in health care facilities design and construction
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered We will give preference to those that have :

  • Project management experience from a major renovation or new build with further experience in capital project planning, design, and / or construction management leading teams for numerous projects
  • Experience with Stipulated Sum, Design Build and Construction Management procurement processes and contracts
  • Experience stemming from health care, crown corporations, post-secondary, gaming, resources, or hospitality
  • PMP designation
