What is the opportunity?
The IT Backup Analyst will provide subject matter expertise, thought leadership and 2nd Level Storage & Backups Infrastructure support for RBC globally.
Knowledge of TSM, Networker and Avamar backup utilities and underlying backup storage devices is expected.
What will you do?
Works with various vendor teams to define requirements and implement solutions for operation system support.
Provides a focal point for process / tool enhancement, liaison for requirements gathering / documentation as it relates to operational system support
Contributes to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing / recommending mitigation strategies
Provides project support by gathering, correlating and analyzing source data for project and migration activities.
Provides analytical due diligence for acquisition and new business opportunities.
Event Management :
Automate alert monitoring systems for the team.
Promptly advise manager of any equipment malfunctions affecting service levels
Review errors with management and recommends permanent solutions to avoid a reoccurrence and identify the potential impact to the bank.
Incident Management :
Determine incident severity and escalate issues accordingly.
Manage escalation orders and multiple complex service initiatives in support of our Business Partners while ensuring deadlines are met.
Provide on-call support as scheduled
Problem Management :
Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for problem resolution relating to complex technical issues or problems raised to support team from L0 and L1 support.
Identify chronic problems, design and implement a remediation plan.
Access Management :
Creates access framework for multiple domains, platforms and applications across the RBC enterprise
Request Fulfillment :
Acts as a single point of contact for internal clients (business and app dev) to facilitate, manage and expedite service requests (requirements management, ordering, SLA management and deployment) for RBC Enterprise.
Complete fulfilment of infrastructure & infrastructure services orders
Manage decom activities
Scan and Remediate all TSS non-compliant issues.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have Skills :
BA or work equivalent experience with emphasis in Information Technology & Systems Administration;
Solid understanding of NAS, SAN, CAS, Backup, Networking, Naming services & General IT concepts.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a Storage & Backup Administration function.
