Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is a consortium comprised of EllisDon, SNC-Lavalin, Aecon and ACS - Dragados. CTS has been selected by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to deliver the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project and is seeking highly qualified, experienced personnel to join the team of this complex P3 design and construction project.
This position will provide mechanical and electrical construction support in the forms of office / coordination work as well as field supervision.
Plan, direct and coordinate on-site mechanical and electrical activities to comply with specifications, requirements and codes.
Coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference problems Provide direction during functional performance testing of all mechanical and electrical systems.
Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFI’s and shop drawings and administrate mechanical / electrical project completion requirements.
Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for contractors.
Report accurate quantities for labour cost reports and accurately monitor material ledgers to ensure quantities in estimate are sufficient to complete the project.
Find solutions to conflicts in structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications and follow-
up with consultants and sub-trades to completion. Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.
You have a Electrical or Mechanical Engineering related degree / diploma and at least seven years of mechanical and electrical construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
Note, candidates with backgrounds in Electrical Engineering or as an Electrician previously will be preferred for this role.
Strong computer skills are a must! Someone comfortable working in a 3D design environment is key. You have a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles and practices.
You have the ability to proactively identify and document any problems / conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them.
You have a working knowledge surveying techniques, surveying equipment standards and procedures. You have the ability to conceptualize drawings and identify potential construction conflicts.
