Responsibilities

  • Ensures guest satisfaction in Food Quality
  • Ensures compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Food Handlers Certified
  • Inspects refrigerators to ensure spoilage and contamination are prevented and to plan use of reusable food
  • Prepares food for daily business
  • Prepares food for outlets and banquets in accordance with established standards of quality, quantity, taste, and preparation
  • Cleans work area throughout shift to ensure a clean kitchen
  • Helps where is needed to ensure an efficient running kitchen
  • Checks food for taste, temperature, and eye appeal
  • Participates in plating food
  • Participate in services food for staff
  • Reviews catering contracts to plan and coordinate preparation process
  • Complies with Hotel policies and procedures
  • Ensures all procedures are followed to ensure food coat is in line with budget
  • Complete tasks posted on a day-to-day basis
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Manager
  • Required Skills

  • Work involves long periods of confined standing., bending and reaching
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and squat.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to work under stressful / pressure situations.
  • Must be able to operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, fryers, grillers, ovens, slicers, mixers and knives in a busy operation.
  • Must be able to follow all health and safety polices of the hotel and Peel Region.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hour shifts, both AM and PM
