The Physical Security Systems & Services Team within TELUS Security oversees physical security across Canada. We are in constant pursuit of ensuring TELUS’ assets are protected.

No two days are the same when you step up to the plate. You will proactively assess the physical security needs of various business units nationally, while also evaluating business value against various parameters.
This is an opportunity to make a difference in protecting the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of TELUS services, information, and other assets.
Provide exceptional development and operational support for TELUS’ physical access control system, CCTV system, and various other technologies which are utilized as physical security controls within TELUS
Evaluate and design security controls for new locations / sites
Stay abreast of developing technologies which will allow the team to fulfil its mandate to protect TELUS’ assets
Assist with the development of physical security policies, procedures, strategies and architectures to define and support TELUS’ Physical Security Program
Educate and coach peer groups and key stakeholders on how to best protect TELUS’ assets
Ensure key investments in physical security are designed and implemented to the highest security standards
Assess physical security risk and business needs; providing actionable guidance to TELUS stakeholders to enhance policy conformance;
support availability, integrity and confidentiality of TELUS services, information, and other assets
Perform site / location audits and reviews to determine risk posture, while also formulating recommendations to remediate deficiencies

Valued for your understanding of industry leading physical access control systems and CCTV systems and technologies
Acknowledged for your understanding of, and application of, major physical security standards, guidance, and frameworks based on ISO, ASIS, (ISC)2, PCI, etc
Skilled in the design, deployment, and support of virtualized systems and servers, with a particular focus on VMWare & Microsoft hypervisor and server technologies
Confident with your understanding of audit and control measures, audit and control principles and practices, monitoring / investigation methodologies and privacy / regulatory / criminal legislation
Regarded for your knowledge of the key principles behind CEPTD (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) framework
Committed to project management and system deployment methodologies
Recognized for your fundamental knowledge of information security technology and methods
Acknowledged for your basic understanding of all the primary security domains as found in various industry bodies of knowledge
Talented with your ability to deal with conflicting issues, roadblocks, dependencies and change, demonstrating negotiation and conflict resolution skills
University degree or college diploma in a related discipline / field
Certifications (or plan to obtain) related to physical security, such as, but not limited to, those issued by ASIS, (ISC)2, CEPTD, ISO, etc
Background in facilities operations, IT security and audit, and project management
Demonstrated passion for security in a role which is not primarily focused on physical security
Experience which has provided secondary or tangential support for physical security and overall asset protection
1-3 years’ operational, facilities administration, or infrastructure build and deployment in a security-focused environment
Basic knowledge of telecommunications industry and network technologies
NOTE : This role may be based in Toronto, Scarborough, Edmonton, Calgary or Vancouver / Burnaby.
