Under the direction and leadership of the Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture, we are seeking a Full-Time, Permanent Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join our Global IT department in Calgary or Calgary, AB.
The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect is responsible for translating the business requirements of the organization into information technology architecture.
This role includes the planning, coordinating and supervision of all activities related to the Cloud Infrastructure and networking of software programs, applications, systems and associated third party solutions.
This includes responsibility for managing the development and communication of future state architectures, guiding principles, standards, and IT roadmaps that enable evolution from current state architectures.
Map and monitor technologies to business requirements including application of use cases and standards
Define and maintain Cloud Infrastructure and Network architectures, standards, principles, common use cases and roadmaps
Create and publish Cloud and Network standards, principles roadmaps and use cases for consumption within business and technology projects and solutions
Oversee and facilitate the research, evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations
Own the Cloud Infrastructure design patterns, standards, building blocks and roadmap. Update and communicate these effectively to other teams
Help identify, investigate and remove roadblocks, alongside other project team members, to ensure projects can be delivered on time and to budget
Communicate with both internal IT and business team members and external vendors assigned on projects to ensure acceptance of agreed architecture building blocks
Ensure ongoing review of all allocated projects on a periodic basis to ensure delivery to agreed business objectives
Develop target architectures to support ATCO’s long-term information technology requirements efficiently and securely
Develop target architectures to support ATCO’s business goals and requirements ensuring clear alignment to both functional and non-functional requirements
Provide technical leadership for enterprise projects that require a level of expertise due to their timelines, the technology involved, magnitude of business impact, the ATCO-
wide nature of the projects, or the seniority of the business constituents.
Work closely with the service provider to ensure compliance to architecture standards, principles, and industry best practice for the solution design as defined in the ATCO Enterprise Architecture portfolio.
Oversee and review the development of solution architecture deliverables during planning and execution of these projects
Integrate solution architecture deliverables back into the enterprise architecture portfolio
Develop new architecture patterns and solutions where business requirements dictate

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
15+ years of architectural experience across business, technical, data, and application domains, preferably in relation to deployment of business focused systems
Familiarity with a variety of different architectural frameworks, patterns and standards and architectural modelling techniques
Experience developing Cloud Infrastructure Architectures for services across multiple data centers and cloud platforms on a global scale
Demonstrable expertise on the management and operations of an enterprise Infrastructure environment
Experience and expertise of the configuration and review of Cloud Infrastructure devices and their associated management
Knowledge of software defined Cloud infrastructure technologies and how to apply them in an enterprise infrastructure environment
Ability to lead solution development as part of a wider Enterprise or Solution Architecture designed to meet business requirements
In depth understanding of Cloud infrastructure principles, including but not limited to; cloud platforms such as Azure / AWS / Salesforce / Oracle, backup, disaster recovery, Windows and / or Red Hat operating systems, storage platforms, server hardening, database technologies such as SQL / Oracle, application delivery technologies such as Citrix / VMware and Server Virtualization technologies such as VMware / Hyper-V / Red Hat
Familiarity with Cloud products and solutions from vendors such as, but not limited to; Amazon, Cisco, Palo Alto, Microsoft, Oracle, AWS, Citrix, VMware, AT&T, Wipro, Telus and Equinix
Broad knowledge across all areas of the Technology Architecture domain including Cloud Computing (IaaS, PaaS, AWS, Azure etc.
Data Center, Data Storage Technologies, Enterprise Networking, Virtualization, Server platforms (Unix / Linux, Windows), Desktop, Mobility solutions, Telecoms, Video Conferencing, systems monitoring / management, data protection, high availability / clustering and infrastructure (network, compute, storage, etc.)
Understanding of key Architecture principles such as requirements, conceptual, logical and physical architectures. As well as experience in the use of guiding principles and governance frameworks
