You as a Proposals Manager will :

  • Be accountable for all aspects of proposal management for assigned proposal and pre-qualification submissions for Public-Private Partnership (Design -Build), Civil, Residential, Light Industrial, Commercial and Institutional pursuits.
  • This will involve directly working with the Sr. Area Leaders, Technical Content Leads and Subject Matter Experts to ensure that proposal process, design, content and relationships are effectively managed on assigned pursuits.

    Work with the Sr. Area Leaders, Technical Content Leads and Subject Matter Experts to develop capture plans and win themes / strategies for all assigned pursuits.

  • Be responsible to effectively plan and execute a proposal pursuit including identifying necessary resources, establishing schedules and milestones, developing a win strategy and communicating this effectively with the senior management team.
  • Lead status and review meetings to ensure the pursuit team is informed about the latest proposal requirements and on schedule with their assigned contributions.
  • Manage the design and presentation of proposal content and packaging to ensure visual clarity and consistency with brand standards.
  • This will involve the creation, formatting and layout of binder package artwork, organization charts, information graphics, response document templates and final proposal documents.

    Work with regional and corporate teams to develop strategies and implement programs that ensure consistent proposal and corporate branding standards.

  • Lead the preparation of the team and presentation content for interviews on prospective projects.
  • Provide oversight, guidance and mentorship to Proposal Coordinators on assigned pursuits and management initiatives to ensure high quality and continuous improvement on all aspects of proposal management.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement creative business growth / marketing strategies that will positively contribute to the growth of the company, as well as attend industry and client events as needed.
  • Establish and maintain pursuit files within the file management system, developing a proposal repository and knowledge management system to make reuse of proposal materials effective and efficient.
  • Use pursuit results and associated date to provide metrics to the senior management team to refine future win strategies and identify where marketing resources should be directed.

  • Develop, communicate, and manage proposal schedules, including the review and production phases (templates, plans, outlines, assignments, baselines, and storyboards).
  • Is this the right role for you?

  • You have five to ten years of professional work experience working as a proposal specialist / manager or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience, of which 2+ years have been as a senior team leader providing managerial oversight of the proposal development process.
  • You have a Degree or Diploma in Commerce / Marketing / Communications, or an equivalent background in marketing, communication, graphic design, project management or administration.
  • Construction experience is an asset.

  • You have strong process skills involving the efficient scheduling, coordination, communication, organization and execution of complex projects under challenging timelines.
  • You have strong writing and proofreading skills. You pay particular attention to content with regards to copy writing, editing, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • You are well-versed with Microsoft Office (specifically Word and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and Google Apps would be an asset.
