A Steward cleans and stores dishes, glassware, and silverware. A Steward also ensures that area around the dishwashers is clean and organized.
What will I be doing?
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards :
Loads dish carts with dirty china, cutlery and glasses.
Unloads dish carts, sorts, pre-washes, stacks, loads and unloads dishwasher.
Delivers dishes, glassware and silverware to designated storage areas.
Operates dishwashing machine, feeds detergents, and cleans / maintains dishwashing machine.
Cleans and organizes equipment and work area.
Delivers dirty pots to stewarding.
Ensure the smooth running of the restaurant buffets by regularly complying with the buffet standards of plates & glassware set-ups and replacement.
Regularly wash heat trucks, heat boxes, wire trucks, room service tables, and other materials.
Cleaning of workstations before end of day.
Assists in cleaning of floors due to spillage or breakage.
Empties garbage and pick-up and fold boxes as and when required.
Help with Garbage disposal.
Controls the use of dishwashing chemicals and equipment.
Checks temperature controls during the use of dishwashing machine.
Notifies the Supervisor of damage to or problems with equipment.
Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.
