This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.
The incumbent reports to the Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis. The candidate is responsible for developing budgets, monitoring financial results, establishing key financial indicators, and updating forecasts for the Personal Banking business line.
The candidate is also responsible for carrying out financial analyses of various projects by acting as a financial business partner in the management of strategic initiatives within the Personal Banking groups.
The work covers building financial models, establishing financial analysis and business cases, and monitoring and reporting on project progress and related financial results.
ºPrepare, analyze, and report on the monthly results of the respective groups and deviations from plan.
ºPlay a key role in the annual financial planning cycle, facilitate key assumptions in addition to forecasts during the year based on the analysis of performance indicators and financial results.
ºWork in partnership with the heads of Personal Banking Business groups to establish the underlying assumptions for forecasts.
ºPrepare and validate financial analyses of investment projects and other strategic initiatives, sales campaigns, in coordination with the champions of the initiatives concerned
ºCommunicate analytical reports and recommendations to leaders of Personal Banking groups and to champions of new strategic initiatives.
ºIdentify opportunities and make recommendations to improve forecasting models and work processes.
ºActively participate in the development of new analysis solutions to meet the growing needs for financial information.
ºUniversity education with a bachelor's degree in Finance, accounting, or related field
º5 to 7 years of working experience in banking industry as financial analyst or similar role.
ºProfessional certification an asset (CPA, CFA, FRM).
ºProficiency in the Office suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
ºProficiency in the Oracle Essbase application an asset.
ºWorking knowledge of retail banking products and business acumen
ºExcellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
ºDynamic and results-oriented, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
ºStrong communication skills and ability to tailor communication appropriately to key stakeholders
ºBilingual (French, English) an asset
