About the role :

Support services are needed to assist in the reintegration of Indigenous offenders who are releasing from local federal correctional facilities.

In this very diverse role, you could be responsible for providing health, wellness, life skills training and / or counselling to Indigenous clients prior to release.

After release, you would be ensuring they have the services they need to reintegrate into the community. Alternatively, you might focus on supporting Indigenous clients releasing from correctional facilities to disaffiliate from gangs by supporting cultural identity training or counselling. The qualifications :

  • Two years experience within the last four years providing health wellness or life skills training or counselling to Indigenous people in a group or individual setting
  • 5 years of experience specifically related to trauma, additions and / or life skills
  • 5 years of experience acquiring cultural competency through working with Indigenous communities, groups or individuals While Calian is open to all qualified applicants, due to the nature of this contract, Calian is actively seeking applicants that identify as First Nations, Inuit or Metis.
