The Data & Analytics team at Loblaw is hiring a Senior Manager, Medical Device Systems Engineering, responsible for supporting and managing the medical device software pipeline for the enterprise.

This role will lead the end to end management of the pipeline, from concept to daily operation, and lead the development team responsible for the medical device components and features with particular emphasis on machine learning components.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible to manage the pipeline of medical device software for the enterprise
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and colleagues to design new features and improvements to be integrated into customer facing software-as-a-medical-device products.
  • Lead systems engineering activities for new medical device software.
  • Responsible for R&D QMS process development, modifications, and integration within the Loblaw Organization.
  • Collaborate with development teams on product improvements, new functionality, recalls, etc.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to define and test opportunities to improve performance of medical device software, in accordance with regulatory guidelines
  • Responsible to produce and maintain all technical documentation required to meet quality and regulatory standards
  • Responsible to ensure internal and external partners adhere to all required standards as defined by the enterprise framework for medical device software
  • Work in close alignment with internal regulatory and quality teams to mitigate and manage enterprise risk
  • Qualifications

  • Requires university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar
  • 7+ years of experience in the development and launch of medical devices, preferably medical device software
  • Background in data science, machine learning would be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of Health Canada Medical Device rules and regulations (ISO 13485, MDSAP, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and IEC 62366-1)
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal employees and external partners
