Credit Specialist

We are looking for a talented Credit Specialist to join our growing company who will work closely with the Director of Finance and Collections team to build out a Credit Risk function and to improve the integrity and strength of our Trade Credit processes and balances.

What you'll be doing :

  • Facilitating customer onboarding process related to credit limits with insurance partner and management of customer credit limits and budget requirements
  • Assessing credit of existing and new clients not approved by insurance partner
  • Maintenance and reporting for Credit Insurance Program
  • Reviewing accounts to ensure accurate provisions or insurance is in place
  • Assisting Collections team with managing the collections of key customer accountsAssisting with issuance of client collection reports
  • Assisting with the processing of insurance claims, legal claims and lien filings
  • Assisting with internal and external audit processAssisting with documentation of all credit processes
  • Knowledge and ability to support Accounts Receivable staff relating to Accounts Receivable reports, cash receipts, banking and data entry
  • Knowledge and ability to prepare Accounts Receivable reports and audit reports as required
  • Long-term goal of building out a credit department that will scale with company’s revenue growth
  • We'll be reaching out to candidates that have / are :

  • University or college degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Credit accreditation or working towards is an asset
  • 3-5 years high volume corporate experience in Accounts Receivable collections and administrative credit roles
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision, and attention to detail
  • Take initiative and are eager to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal & communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proven ability to successfully build strong working relationships with team members; team player
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Microsoft Office skills Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook - ability to effectively analyze data using Excel
  • Experience using Intacct and Euler Hermes Eolis is a significant asset
  • Team management experience is an asset
