Specific accountabilities

Reporting to the Coordinator, Security, Operations, the incumbent is responsible for managing access to the complex.


  • Run, maintain and manage the building’s access control system for internal and external clients (tenants);
  • Oversee the Medeco key system for internal and external clients (tenants) and ensure that everything is working properly;
  • Assess requests for access from new and existing tenants.
  • Propose access solutions that ensure the integrity of the premises and comply with relevant codes and regulation;
  • Update and maintain access card and key system databases for the various clients and tenants.
  • Produce reports and analyze access data to identify anomalies;
  • Coordinate audits for key rings belonging to building employees and temporary key rings issued for special jobs;
  • Oversee procurement for lock and access control supplies, prepare purchase orders and handle relevant work tickets and invoices;
  • Coordinate service calls for camera, intercom and radio communication equipment and for the associated security systems.
  • Prepare purchase orders and manage relevant work tickets and invoices;
  • Control building access for internal and external clients.
  • Analyze requests to identify potential impacts and required equipment (keys, etc.) and programming.

  • Follow up with the affected parties;
  • Assist contractors with authorized construction work and projects.
  • Coordinate deliveries, freight elevator access, work permit applications and access requests for contractors.

  • Attend site meetings as needed to support construction project heads and authorized managers;
  • Manage the plans room for the building, supervise plan records and project completion documents, and loan out documents for project-related use;
  • Handle wiring requests from service providers.
  • Verify the quality of the work and bill according to consultants’ recommendations;
  • Serve on the building’s emergency response team and help the security and operations team if an incident occurs;
  • Assist the security department with its investigation and follow-up after an incident.
  • Prepare reports as requested and analyze results;
  • Act as Assistant Coordinator, Security, in case of vacation or planned absence;
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned.
  • Key requirements

  • College diploma (DCS) or a relevant combination of education and experience;
  • Two to three years of experience in security or access control;
  • Team player with a commitment to continuous quality improvement and client service;
  • Comfort working in a digital environment;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English;
  • Outgoing, energetic, organized, self-directed and proactive.
