We currently have an opening for a Technical Solutions Application Engineer to join our Winnipeg team.
As part of the Technical Solutions team this role is responsible for being the technical voice and partnered with account managers to find the best solutions to meet the needs and requirements of our clients.
This would involve site visits to understand the requirements, delivery of product demonstrations and planning out implementations of our solutions.
These include SOLIDWORKS and a combination of its affiliated products as noted on SOLIDWORKS product website and their services.
There will also be opportunities to take part in marketing events, seminars, webcasts and trade shows to show what our products can do for the engineering community
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work collaboratively with Account Managers to provide comprehensive Pre-Sales Technical Support for all SOLIDWORKS products
Create and deliver riveting product demonstrations
Create video content as demonstration alternatives
Train customers on SOLIDWORKS and affiliated products
Travel to customer sites to provide onsite support and training (occasional weekend and evening travel estimated less than 5% of the time)
Liaise with customers and in-house staff and partners
Interpret inquires related to SOLIDWORKS and provide technical solutions as required
Write technical articles, record screen capture video of software processes for publishing to the organizations technical blog
Attend industry tradeshows
Host marketing events as technical expert
Identify opportunities for up selling and future business for Javelin
Record and document process in CRM system
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA :
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience utilizing SOLIDWORKS
Minimum of a 3-year Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma required or a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
Excellent knowledge of mechanical CAD and design industry required
Experience in FEA and CFD simulation testing is a huge asset
Industry experience in product design, tooling design, mold design, industrial design, and / or electrical systems design are pluses
MUST have strong verbal, written and listening communication skills
In lieu of direct SOLIDWORKS experience, solid modeling and design experience with another 3D CAD product is required
Excellent customer relations ability required
A creditable and lively presenter with a professional demeanor
Credible understanding of engineering process and terminology, and solid modelling process and jargon
SOLIDWORKS CSWP or CSWA certification is an asset
Strong aptitude for Microsoft Office Suite
Must have a reliable means of transportation and a Valid Driver's license
Must be capable of briefly lifting up to 55 lbs. (mobile laptop cases consisting of 4 laptops and peripherals)
Ability to travel to the USA
