To ensure the product quality and performance of road paving materials in the Greater Vancouver Area (GVA). Reporting to the Senior Quality Control Technician for the GVA, you will be responsible for carrying out aggregates and asphalt mix sampling, laboratory and field testing from crushers, stockpiles, plant sites and road construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
You will be exposed to all operations related to Quality Control and are therefore expected to take on greater responsibilities as you develop within this position.

Understands the safety objectives of the organization and supports these efforts in a visible manner Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner Follow plant safety rules and policies Identify safety issues Quality Control : Testing of asphalt and aggregate to ensure product quality Evaluating material properties for use in asphalt production Troubleshooting problems on project sites and at plants, including field investigations Optimizing asphalt production procedures Analyzing and designing asphalt mix designs Researching and developing new Hot Mix Asphalt Provide technical service to enhance our customers operations Resolve regular customer product problems Continual liaison with plant and suppliers to monitor product(s) and consult on quality.
Participate in resolution of long term product development and product problems Performs other operational duties as assigned
Education : Grade 12 Diploma Completion of Certified Engineering Technician program Or 2 3 years related experience would be considered an asset Experience : Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Positive, responsible individual capable of working effectively with limited supervision Team player with good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn Able / willing to perform physical work in a construction environment High attention to detail is required Excellent analytical and organizational skills Strong computer knowledge (Ex : Microsoft Office -
Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) Good time management skills Problem solving Technical Learning Organization Valid BC Drivers License is required along with a reliable means of transportation
