In order to carry out his / her duties, the holder of this position is responsible for the maintenance and start-up of dry docks and steam boilers.
Operate dry docks when ships enter or exit.Switch boilers on and off when requested.Inspects boilers to ensure their smooth operation disassemble to perform cleaning and replace any defective parts.
Perform verification of all oil and steam’’ boilers (safety valves, combustion controls, piping and junction, low water level plug, supply system, boiler room air intake, contacts verification, low water level plug cleaning, burner, fuel pump, filters, combustion tests, etc.
Ensure the smooth operation of the automatic temperature control of boilers (control devices, transmitters, gauges, control valves, positioner and any other auxiliary devices at controls).
Maintain heating equipment ( Steam trap’’, pumps and radiators).Prepare an operational activities report and safety and maintenance activities.
Supervise the dry dock equipment on a daily basis (pump, reducers, motorised valves, doors, and tunnel).Check all various charts to ensure that dry docks are compliant.
Check all various alarm systems.Complete all job cards related to dry dock operations and boilers maintenance.
Hold a diploma of vocational studies in stationary machinery mechanicsHold an RBQ Class IIAbility to learnResourcefulness, sense of responsibilityAutonomous
