FastCompanyWe are looking for a passionate team-oriented leader with exceptional project management skills and a love of retail.

Reporting directly to our Retail Expansion Manager, our ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and executing on our retail expansion strategy.

You will work independently and cross functionally with leasing, experiential and interior designers, architects, construction & facilities managers, merchandising and retail operations departments to ensure our store concepts are brought to life.

You are a creative problem solver, with a passion for bringing retail projects to life. You recognize that getting the best from others requires strong relationships and the ability to roll up your sleeves.

To sparkle in the role, you will :

  • Be the liaison and point of contact between all internal and external teams as it relates to each retail expansion project
  • Effectively collaborate with key functions of the business : retail management, merchandising, marketing, events, human resources, finance, experiential & interior design and retail operations, ensuring successful implementation of all functional store requirements
  • Manage and deliver requirements from external partners or stakeholders including Landlords & municipalities to eliminate project roadblocks and risks ensuring all projects are in compliance with company, provincial or federal policies & regulations
  • Participate in design and construction meetings to ensure stakeholder alignment and act as the primary contact between construction team members / contractors & retail operations
  • Support a broad project scope including new, expansion, relocation, renovation, closure and pop up spaces
  • Provide regular feedback on project status to Retail Expansion Manager and Retail Operations Manager
  • Take a proactive approach to anticipating risks and formulating contingency plans in consultation with the Retail Expansion Manager
  • Manage multiple work streams on multiple simultaneous projects from our internal cross functionals and external vendors, ensuring all deliverables are achieved on time & on budget
  • Coordinate and deliver comprehensive cross-functional schedules detailing activities leading up to project completion
  • Responsible for placing and tracking orders with established vendors for equipment, supplies and services required for assigned retail expansion projects
  • Ensure and manage all project deliverables ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets
  • Successfully transition project from Construction Manager to Retail Operations staff, providing on-site support leading into store openings
  • Perform site visits as required
  • Our bright and shiny candidate has :

  • 3-5 years experience in retail project management
  • Excellent time management skills, planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the retail industry across North America and internationally
  • An entrepreneurial spirit who thinks outside the box
  • Proven experience delivering large scale projects on time & budget
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing projects with excellent follow through and accuracy
  • Able to identify opportunities and enjoys problem solving
  • Appreciates feedback and constantly strives to improve (never settles)
  • Discipline to be methodical and demonstrates excellent decision making
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills (leads self)
