The incumbent is responsible for analyzing credit accounts (high risk mortgage renewals, HELOC and ULOC accounts, insured rescue solutions, investment loans) and providing solutions directly to customers or other internal departments (Client Services, Collections, Retail etc.).
The incumbent will provide superior service in a high-pressure environment. The incumbent is responsible for complying with the Bank's Credit policies, strong negotiating with clients and advisors, to minimize potential loan losses for the Bank.
Skills required will be a blend of credit analysis, customer service, negotiation, and some knowledge of collection practices and remediation activities.
The role will require a thorough knowledge of debt ratio calculations and application of credit underwriting principles.
º Contact customers based on assigned accounts (upcoming renewals, line of credit decision tree outputs).
º For mortgage renewals, the incumbent will apply a risk based pricing premium to upcoming renewals and will advise the retail network of the recommended pricing increase or decrease.
º For high risk HELOC and ULOC, the incumbent will probe the client about current financial stability, investigate current credit worthiness and develop recommendations for approval (change payment structure, adjust the credit line etc.)
º For high risk investment loans, the incumbent will review under-collateralized loans, review the customers current financial stability and develop recommendations to remediate the loans in a timeframe acceptable to the Bank.
º The incumbent will be expected to keep the client's financial health at top of mind in the analysis of credit accounts.
º Create and mail out the necessary letters / authorizations to support their efforts.
º Co-ordinate effectively with multiple teams, and act as the central point of contact for information regarding decisions undertaken whether negotiated with the client directly, or based an analysis of the current file only.
º Maintains a high level of product knowledge to provide professional and courteous guidance to clients.
º Keeps informed and up-to-date to various legislation, procedures, standards and policies related to the products and services offered by B2B Bank, as well as B2B's distribution channels.
º Submits recommendations to improve work processes to Operations (Adjudication) Management.
º Carries out any other similar or general task at the request of their Management team that may be required by their function.
º University Degree or College Diploma in business or a related field, with 1 to 2 years of related experience.
º University degree or College diploma in Business Administration, or in a related field.
º Successful completion of Credit Management courses or designation through the Credit Institute of Canada is an asset.
º Credit underwriting and pricing experience is an asset
º Ability to use initiative and good judgment in a decisive but fair manner to resolve difficult situations.
º Results oriented, diplomatic, and adept at building customer relations.
º Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
