Why this role is important? Reporting to the Manager, Pharmaceutical Partnerships Planning and Portfolio, this role is responsible for the analytics that drive the management, execution and support of the Shoppers Drug Mart’s pharmacy multi-year, common-year plan as well as forecasting and portfolio. The scope of the role encompasses the following broad functions: analytical modeling, financials, forecasting, planning and decision support. What You'll Do: Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop forecast models (Existing, New launch, and Seasonal Products), and evaluate forecast results. Participate in cross-functional reviews to reconcile notable variances and refine the forecast models to reflect updated Sales & Marketing activities & inputs. Responsible for the development of structured analyses, utilizing multiple data sources (primary and secondary) and systems, to identify opportunities to enhance our product and vendor mix to meet customer needs and operational & commercial objectives. Responsible for developing and maintaining the data structures required to: a) monitor vendor and product attributes / performance to proactively identify issues, b) effectively work with the Inventory Management group to manage service levels related to product listings (adds / changes / deletions), and c) determine market and commercial impacts of changes to our product / vendor mix. Responsible for the development and distribution of key reports (both ad hoc and regular) on a timely basis. What You'll Need: Requires a University degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar. 3 - 5 years analytical experience with exposure to a broad array of analysis techniques Expert level Excel, VBA, Access (and other relational databases); preference will be given to candidates with SQL experience Retail or generic pharma experience would be considered an asset Strong organizational skills. Able to maintain strong working relationships with internal employees and with external partners. In addition to excellent technical and analytic skills, the candidate must be able to interpret and present information (both written and verbal) in an engaging, meaningful way.
