Your Job

As an Inside Investigator , your work will have a big impact on our Claims department. People will count on you to analyze and investigate claims of moderate to high levels of complexity referred by insurance professionals for potential fraud or misrepresentation.

You will work closely with various department members in a strong collaborative team environment.

The ideal Inside Investigator will thrive in a fast-paced, ever changing environment with evolving processes, tools and new ideas.

This position is a full-time 12-month opportunity position that can be based in Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton or Victoria.

Here are a few ways you'll make a difference :

  • Review and analyze claim details available for suspected fraud and determine type and scope of investigation required.
  • By using data analytics and gathering essential information from all resources you will conduct further investigation, or close non-suspicious tasks

  • Conduct investigations by telephone. This will include and is not limited to : telephone interviews with customers, third parties, Law enforcement and witnesses
  • Complete open source investigations on files and use technology and our multiple systems to evaluate the information gathered
  • Document the investigation by collecting and securing proof of fraudulent activities
  • Create professional, detailed and factual reports on all investigations and provide prompt updates to the Claims Adjusters
  • Provide consultation to Claims adjusters on complex files
  • Proactively maintain knowledge of current fraud trends, technology, social media, etc.
  • Facilitate internal training sessions and educate employees in identifying key potential fraud
  • Your Skills

  • 3+ years Claims adjusting experience within the P&C insurance industry required. Adjusting experience must be current from the last 3 years.
  • Claims Rep II status required
  • Special Handling Adjuster experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Proficient with computer technology and capable of learning new systems in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise, factual reports
