    We are looking for a qualified Supply Specialist to join our Ottawa, ON office.

    Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Supply Specialist will provide support to our client by maintaining and updating the material databases using information from particularized specifications and Standard Ship Maintenance Repair Specifications (SSMRS).

    The Supply Specialist uses their skills in Microsoft office, Sharepoint and experience with DND’s Material Processes to effectively execute their job duties and proudly represent the company.

    Knowledge of GSM / CFM, CGSC, and NCAGE supplies will allow them to seamlessly provide supply solutions at the client location.

    Qualifications :

  • Education required :
  • oQL6B certification or above from the Royal Canadian Navy oCollege Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience required :
  • o5-8+ years working with material databases in an engineering environment

  • Experience with Sharepoint and SSMRS required
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian government security clearances
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Access SharePoint to view and gather information from particularized specifications. Provide information gathered from the specifications to the Database Manager for inclusion in events.
  • Update the material database when needed from the list of material issues that are developed by DND.

  • Review Standard Ship Maintenance Repair Specifications (SSMRS) regularly on SharePoint to ensure the material database is up to date with the latest information and material substitution list and work closely with DND’s LCMM to confirm whether they are still suitable and to subsequently include the information into the material database comment sheet.
  • Analyze engineering changes (EC) to impact ships’ systems equipment and technical documentation using prior work experience (this includes : radar, communications, armament, sonar, and fire control).
  • Identify all systems documentation that requires changes due to the EC. Work with the Engineering department to identify design issues and potential solutions to ECs.

  • Review and update technical documentation by using red lines to identify changes required to update the publications (including sketches and drawings) and review and analyze maintenance documentation and rationalize either updating or maintaining maintenance schedules.
  • This is done by reviewing historical documentation including : failures, periodic engineering letters, deferred maintenance What We Offer :
