The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the delivery of effective Human Resources Programs and ensuring consistent administration of Human Resources Policies, Practices, and Procedures.
The incumbent will be responsible for recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and WSIB claims management.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist provides advice and assistance to all staff on employee relations matters for over 600 union and non-unionized workforce.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide advice and direction to all levels of management on the interpretation and consistent application of Human Resources policies, practices, and relevant labor legislation.
Identify employee relations concerns and take appropriate action to address and resolve issues.
Respond to human resources inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Actively participate in the recruitment and selection of various levels of staff.
Review position descriptions and select appropriate advertising medium.
Attend and represent Alexandria Moulding at job fairs, career expositions, and campus recruiting.
Oversee the preparation of letters of offer and terms and conditions of employment.
Participate in surveys on salaries, wages, benefits, and working conditions.
Coordinate the Performance Evaluation process and annual merit review program.
Oversee HRIS and ensure data is maintained and kept up-to-date.
Conduct new employee orientation.
Provide input and assist in developing new policies, practices, and procedures.
Maintain job descriptions for all positions and ensure they are current, accurate, and up-to-date.
Assist in formulating Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for hourly positions.
Prepare and present reports as required.
Provide letters of reference and credit checks.
Prepare corrective action letters.
Conduct exit interviews.
Assist with planning and organizing Company events and activities when requested.
Participate in committees and meetings as required.
Manufacturing experience in a unionized environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
