NTT DATA is looking for a Senior BA to support projects and to coach internal BAs.

The Resource must have the following minimum qualifications or experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Commerce or an equivalent field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working as a business analyst.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience documenting / conducting process assessments and reviews.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience writing use cases or text scripts.
  • Must possess a high level of communications, and client relationship skills.
  • The Analyst must be able to communicate complex technical and business concepts, both to clients (internal or external) and team members, and to negotiate change.
  • Must be capable of effectively identifying and framing problems, leading the collection of elements of information, and integrating this information to produce timely and thoughtful decisions.
  • Must have (3) years of experience leading, training, and mentoring business analysts.
  • Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Accreditation from a Business Analyst professional association is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK) is considered an asset
  • Role Description :

    NTT DATA is seeking to engage the services of an advanced-level Senior Business Analyst (SBA) where leadership and mentoring is an on-going requirement, with at least 7 years of experience in gathering business requirements, facilitating sessions, documenting, and communicating business requirements.

    The main goal will be to develop Business Requirements and Project Schedules and lead, train and mentor internal staff to develop their business analysis knowledge and skills including business procedural and systems reviews, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses.

    While training other Business Analysts to develop their business analysis competencies the SBA will also assist them in learning how to identify, document, and present wider opportunities for business process improvements.

    Responsibilities :

    a. Business Case Development and Project Planning

  • Leads or participates in studies of new and existing programs and special projects to determine feasibility, resolve problems including organizational, procedural, technical, and fiscal research and analysis.
  • Sets out and gains consensus on the direction of the project and scope from the senior stakeholders.
  • Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users
  • Provides a cost-benefit analysis for planned IT investments and changes.
  • Ensure that the overall solutions are endorsed by business stakeholders and that they meet the business needs.
  • Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical team, consultants, and other governmental organizations in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of solutions to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • b. Business Analysis, Process Improvement Assessments, Requirements and, Use Case development

  • Leads the research and investigation of business areas to define and document business requirements in standard industry Requirements Specifications formats involving Use Cases, Diagrams, and other artifacts.
  • Consults with business subject matter experts to identify, define and document business requirements and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through the use of technology and / or through business process changes
  • Develops an understanding of the scope of the requirements as all requirements should relate to a stakeholder or stakeholder group.
  • Gain stakeholder consensus and understanding of all of the business requirements in scope for the project and their priorities.
  • c. Quality Assurance : Test Script Development and User Acceptance Testing Coordination

  • Lead business analysts in writing the test scripts, reviews, and coordination of testing by other staff and business users.
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.
  • The purpose of it is to ensure all of the different business scenarios will be met by the system functions.
  • d. Staff Business Analysis Development

  • Develops a training curriculum and conducts formal training sessions in concert with on-the-job mentoring and guidance.
  • Provides technical assistance in training, mentoring, and coaching professional and technical staff.
  • Prepares reports and written findings and recommendations to ISB management on staff business analysis development.
  • e. Identification of Improvement Opportunities :

  • Document department-specific recommendations for process improvements from a process perspective
  • Develop a plan to ensure the implementation is underway prior to the end of the contract.
  • Specific Requirements :

  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and apply this to the development, execution and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information systems solutions.
  • Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs.
  • Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project progress.
  • Stay current with customer needs and strategies; utilizing formal and informal written communication methods (for example, emails, PowerPoint presentations, management updates) to communicate updates;
  • and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (for example, senior management, program staff)

  • Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules when necessary;
  • determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths;
  • and managing customer and supplier relationships

  • Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others;
  • identifying and initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding team accountable for results.

  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level;
  • focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or recommending elimination;
  • integrating new systems and processes with existing ones; and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies

  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders;
  • identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results;
  • recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities

  • Provide project level analysis producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, User Acceptance Test plan)
  • Collaborate closely with solution providers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during Quality Assurance process.
  • Elicit and clearly document business requirements.
  • Assess business process and system inefficiencies.
  • Identify ways to increase adoption and customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
