Junior ENGINEER CAD
The implementation CAD team is responsible for the support and implementation of Physical Design and Static Timing flows and tools at Microchip.
As a member of the team, you will work on a wide range of areas in the backend flow of digital design, such as :
Static timing analysis, signal integrity, power, and area optimization Gaining experience in static timing tools such as Cadence Tempus or Synopsys Primetime
Place and Route : floor planning, placement, and optimization for timing closure Experience in P&R tools such as Cadence Innovus or Synopsys ICC2
Low power methodologies and impact on overall design goals
Core technical related competencies
Ability to quickly learn new features and flows of digital design while working with senior team member of CAD group
Excellent debug and analytical skills
Working knowledge of HDLs (Verilog, VHDL)
Solid understanding of UNIX / LINUX
Experience in scripting TCL, Perl, Python or Shell
Basic knowledge of static timing tools (e.g. Tempus, or equivalent) would be an asset
Basic knowledge of Physical design tools (e.g. Innovus, or equivalent) would be an asset
Core business competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to function and thrive in a team environment as well as an individual contributor, with a strong desire to succeed.
Ability to work efficiently with multi-site teams.
Additional Preferences :
Work experience with Synthesis, Place & Route or Static Timing tools would be an asset but not a requirement
