What is the opportunity?

The Product Controller will provide quality production of P&L and P&L Decomposition for the UST Fixed Income business; including the most complex Fixed income Cash Products (MBS and Municipal Bonds).

The results reported by the individual are relied upon by the Product Control Manager, upper management and front office to manage the businesses and financial reports which are reported to the head office.

The Production Associate will work closely with various traders and manage the integrity of the local general ledger (GL).

What will you do?

  • Assist in the production of the P&L statements to be provided to Front Office and Product Control Management
  • Provide Financial Control with a monthly Standards of Documentation binder to support the balance sheet and P&L recorded on the GL; attest to balances
  • Work closely with Product Control Manager on high visibility projects in the US FIC level, as well as projects involving Global Product Control
  • Ensure that variances to Desk Estimates are adequately explained, that reported P&L is reconciled to the GL and Inventory related accounts on the balance sheet are substantiated
  • Assist the Product Control Manager in fulfilling head office requests for information about GL entries, variances of monthly and quarterly results, audit and other ad hoc requests
  • What do you need to succeed?


  • University Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • 3+ years of Product Control or related work experience
  • Extensive understanding of Interest Rates and Mortgages related product, as well as their accounting treatments
  • Working knowledge of Access, advanced Excel, SQL and VBA are integral
  • Nice-to-have

  • MBA or other financial designation (ie. CFA)
