Funded through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Ray of Hope operates a Secure Custody / Detention program which serves male youth who have been in conflict with law.
Through our program, we offer a safe place for young men who have committed serious crimes to complete their court appointed sentences.
Through creating an environment where we commit to growth, act responsibility, keep integrity, and engage respectfully, we teach the youth skills so that they can contribute to their community to their community in a positive way, and decrease the likelihood of re-offending.
Ray of Hope Secure is currently hiring for a full time youth care worker to start as soon as possible. The shift schedule is to be determined, but is likely to include afternoons or overnights .
The starting wage for this position is $20.34 per hour.
The Youth Care Worker is responsible for providing the day-to-day support and supervision to male youth in a Secure Custody facility.
The Youth Care Worker will engage in appropriate behaviour interventions and will actively participate in providing an effective, supportive, and respectful care system for the youth in custody.
The Youth Care Worker may be assigned case management responsibilities and be assigned as the designated staff in charge.
